Fall ORC: Week 5- Entry Updates and Art
This challenge is flying by! Of course when you have 2 weekends that are out for working due to hosting a party and being our of town, that will happen. Here's my week 5 update...
I finally got ahold of the art piece I fell in love with just before the challenge began. I love how it looks in the space and adds a pop of color in a neutral room...
We also found someone to climb our 2 story foyer and hang the Movarian Star pendant I've had my eye on for years! I used to have one that I picked up at a garage sale but while moving once, and before it was ever able to get hung, it was smashed. I've never let Alex forget it either. This one is even better though, I only wish it was a bit larger and had a longer chain (we may have to purchase an extension so it can hang lower). And there's little Miss Polly there watching me. If you follow along on Instagram, then you know we just brought home an adorable little kitten a couple of weeks ago. Seriously she's the cutest, hello she plays fetch... all the time! That's what happens when we walk into the pet store for dog food, we walk out with a new member of the family!
After having samples taped on to our front door for a month, I finally picked out the color to paint it. Krypton from Sherwin Williams is the lucky winner and I love how it turned out! I originally thought it would be too grey and not enough blue but it is perfect! I also found the chair rail trim for the entire space (that's what the wood is there leaning on the wall). My first choice ended up being too chunky and it wouldn't have looked right. This one still has some chunky too it but is not as deep so it works with our existing door trim. I'll be painting it and the wall below where it will go White Dove by Valspar today. It's my favorite neutral/warm white...
I'm still on the search for the perfect entry bench. I found this ottoman at Target and I love the fabric and the fact that the top lifts for storage, however it's small so I would need 2 of them and I'm not sure how 2 would look as opposed to a single larger one...
As a refresher, here is the original plan for the room. My dining chairs still haven't come in as I was hoping for some sort of miracle since they over sold them and are now on back order until the middle of December! Ugh! And I can't decide on head chairs. I need to visit a couple store this week and see what I can find. Other than that everything else is going as planned...
Now I must go finish up the million things left to do before next week! Ahhh!

See you next week with a hopefully complete room... minus my side chairs!
