momma cave.

Apparently mom caves are the next big thing, and why shouldn't they? Men dens have been around for a while now, my husband sort have has one, we tend to hang out in there with him though so he doesn't get as much alone time, but it is decorated for him in all of his favorite Gators, baseball, and golf memorabilia, and stores all of his trophies. I too made a room in this house for myself. I never considered it a mom cave until I began reading about it through blogland. It is supposed to be the dining room but we don't use a formal dining room so instead I made it into my studio, office, craft room, shop, whatever you want to call it.

I didn't bother cleaning it up too much for you. It is better organized in these pictures (if you would even call it that) than it usually is. most of the time you can't walk in here, the kids know not to step foot in here because of all the projects I usually have going on all at once, (you can see some in these picture). My hutch has become a storage area for all of the sweet stands I create...
I plan on painting this filing cabinet and eventually using it for storage. On top It's holding some items for the craft fair coming up (less than 2 weeks!)...
Here is where I hung my homemade magnetic chalkboard, and store more frames to be made into chalkboards as well. Tha cabniet in the corner is supposed to be a wine cabinet but we don't really drink wine, not enough to have a cabinet like that so I took out some of the dividers and plan on painting it and finding baskets to add to the "shelves" for storage...
Here is my table where you think I would create on but instead I prefer the floor, I know weird. I use the table to store odds and ends like my pens, scissors, notebook for new ideas, and parts of projects that need to be completed still...
some closeups...

Next to the filing cabinet I store some fabric, my board I paint on for projects, and some wood waiting to be painted...

Now you can see all of my storage problems... I have finished frames stored in a box, and my ribbon drawer is sitting on a chair because I have no where else to put it... I store things under tables...

On top of tables...
All of my packing materials are thrown into a corner...
I need a little help when it comes to storage pieces. While I was at HomeGoods the other day I snapped a few photos of some products that I think would help me in that department, and make my momma's cave just a bit prettier and organized looking... First I noticed the lamp, no it won't help me with my storage needs but it's pretty and I love France!...
Next I saw a few different boxes that I thought would be great to hold papers, materials, and a solution to my ribbon collection...

I thought this piece was neat and looked like a piece from an old house or little shop...
Even though this is supposed to be used for bills and whatnot, I think it could store my paper quite nicely and creatively...
Same with this one...
This could hold all of my scrapbook paper I have in a pile currently under the table...
I loved the mirrored front on this cabinet, look there's a red tag, must be on clearance too!...
Another red tag, I thought this could help hold my finished pieces and store things underneath in the cabinet area...
So there you have it, my unorganized, fun, creative, messy, desperately in need of more storage momma's cave! For a chance to win a gift certificate to HomeGoods to create you dream momma's cave visit Kate here, and Susan here!

I love your tiered storage dishes . . . I want to do something like that in my sewing room someday. :) Nice picks on items you could use in your space as well . . . I'm always grateful when people post storage solution ideas that are a bit out of the box! :)

The only problem I see is that you have too many cool things! I Love all your goodies. Great space to have it all in - I'm sure you'll get it in order the way you like it.
